HP Insight Remote Support Advanced – Release Notes: A.05.80
Supported VMware operating systems
Important: Support is provided for a static Virtual Machine (VM) environment only. Static in this case means that the
device needs to be tied to a single ProLiant server running VMware ESX or ESXi, to be allocated a static IP
address to work correctly and should not be moved.
VMware vCenter features that are not supported on a Virtual Machine based Hosting Device includes
VMware vMotion, VMware Fault Tolerance, VMware Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), VMware High
Availability (HA), VM cloning, VM copying and Physical to Virtual (P2V) Migrations with the VMware vCenter
Converter.
When running the Hosting Device in a virtual environment, HP recommends increasing the CPU and
memory recommendations by 15% when the Virtual Machine (VM) is created. Note, do this for each VM
added to the ProLiant as it is possible to run multiple Insight Remote Support VMs on one physical server if
enough resources are available.
